Well, it's been close to a week since I first posted. Thought I better check in. I will weight in tomorrow and see how I did. I've walked 19 miles since my first post, in 6 days. I guess that's not too bad, huh? It's really true what they say about losing weight after you hit the age of 40! It is NOT easy! Anyone reading this who thinks this does not apply to them because they are as skinny as a rail or never had a weight problem...THINK AGAIN, DAWG! It WILL catch up with you! I can't tell you how many ladies & gentlemen I know that thought that when they were in their 20's and 30's, and guess what? Yep, they found their inner snacks they ate when they were younger! Not a fun experience!
I have been keeping a log of my food for at least over a month now. It really makes a difference in my choices. When I started walking, I didn't worry about it at first and it just came natural to start thinking about, "Maybe I'll have a banana instead of a handful of chips." In fact, after a month of walking, I was craving vegetables SO bad, it was crazy! I ended up going to Sweet Tomatoes Salad Bar and pigging out on veggies and good ones! *lol* I only put on balsamic vinegar and just a little olive oil and lots of pepper! Love my pepper!
A couple of nights ago, I was lying on my back and felt something odd just under my bust...yep, you guessed it...RIBS! I found my RIBS! I was so excited and still am! My RIBS are back! I can't even remember how long it has been since I have found them even lying down! I call that an NSV (non-scale victory)!
I did have a day where I had NO energy and had to MAKE myself do something. I did 1 mile, but like my walk guru, Leslie Sansone, says, "1 Mile is better than NO miles!" Later that day, I decided to try for the other 3 I scheduled for myself, as I wanted to do 4 that day. I started out thinking, "Okay, I'll at least try to do 2,so I can say I did 3 today." Yes, you guessed it again...I did 3! I figured when I got done with the 2, I might as well finish...was SO glad I did! So even though I felt blah the whole day...I did get in my 4, even though I may not have done it with much energy. My energy is back now though. Did 3 today!
Taking the day off from walking tomorrow and preparing for a Chinese New Year Potluck at friends house. Have my China Dish recipe ready to make and throw in the slow cooker tomorrow! Then maybe relax and read my book I've been reading, The Girl Who Played With Fire. Maybe I'll finish it? We'll see. Then Sunday, I want to go to the mall and do some power walking!
